ART IN

MY LIFE

Art is not a thing; it is a way.

- Elbert Hubbard

Rocio Olguin Foto

Art has always been an important part of my life. The need for artistic creation is an essential part of me, and the satisfaction of always keep learning something new really motivates me, especially if such learning transcends a book or a school.

Born and raised in Mexico City, I decided to move to Oaxaca where I currently live. Oaxaca is a place that has allowed me to further advance in my development as a person and as an artist. The myriad of colors and textures that I encounter every day, along with the people I have met here, have guided me through the search of new aesthetics, techniques, and of course, personal growth.

Through my Contemporary Art Studio and Online Shop website, I hope to contribute to the art world with my curiosity, ideas, and perspectives; share them, and of course … take the opportunity to start conversations with all of you who have taken the time to visit my virtual space and are interested in my art.

Puzzle

Landscape of Cuajimoloyas is a work done in oil on wood, it is a testimony of my travels through the different regions of Oaxaca.

This landscape corresponds to the Sierra Norte region in the town of San Antonio Cuajimoloyas, which is located at 3000 meters above sea level and approximately 1 hour from the capital city.
